Well, it’s been a while since I\u2019ve posted any sort of update post. Since I just updated a few things on the site – isn\u2019t it beautiful? – I thought that now would be the perfect time to touch base here. More for my sake than anyone else, as this will allow me to lay out my goals for the coming year and see what I accomplished this last year.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
First off, I feel very accomplished over what I got done over the last year. In my first post here, I had just sent my QB for 2021 off to an alpha reader and had signed up for another writing challenge but hadn\u2019t done much more.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Well, I managed to finish QB21, EFB, and participate in each of the RT events. I completed July\u2019s RT during the challenge time, which was exciting. I signed up for the EFRB challenge, and that is where I think I overbooked myself in my zeal to take on ALL THE THINGS.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I completed the EFRB, and I\u2019m delighted with Intangible<\/a>, the fic that came out of it. Halestrom<\/a> was the artist I was working with, and they had such a gorgeous piece of work that I couldn\u2019t help but be inspired by it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n That said, I was exhausted by the end of the year, and I\u2019m not sure if it was just too many challenges or if I put too much pressure on myself there at the end.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This year I\u2019m planning on concentrating on enjoying the writing I\u2019m doing and challenging myself without stressing out about it. We\u2019ll see how well that works out.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ve bowed out of this year\u2019s QB, I couldn\u2019t concentrate on it on top of my EFRB and the stress I put myself under at the end of 2021. I have a few WIPS that are being worked on that I\u2019m toying with working on for next year\u2019s QB, so we\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ve signed up for the new challenge through Just Write, The Big Moxie<\/a>. It\u2019s been a fun way to delve into a few ideas and areas I\u2019ve wanted to poke at but have been hesitant to approach, and I have a few ideas and fandoms I\u2019m playing with there.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019ve already posted the first Moxie fic Everything Matters<\/a>, a canon divergence TW fic that swerves during the storm\/rescue of the parents from under the nemeton. It touches on some things I\u2019ve been playing in my writing lately, and I\u2019m happy with it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n My second Moxie fic is in the works, and right now, it’s looking like it will be another TW fic. It’s a TW\/Folk tale fusion with a bit of twist; it’s been a joy to plot and start writing on.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Then there is Rough Trade<\/a>. I am definitely planning on joining this year for at least one of the challenges in April, July, and November. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll be able to take up the banner for both in the same month just yet, though.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For April, I\u2019ll be writing in the Witcher fandom for the first time, and as it will be a fusion fic, I will also be writing about daemons for the first time. It will be experimental all the way around. I\u2019m really excited to head into April and discover all Jaskier and Geralt’s secrets in What Lies Beneath.<\/i><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I think that about wraps up my look back and my look at the immediate future.
